Jervis Bay has the whitest sand in the world and this is all
because of the sea grasses that grow on the bottom of the bay.
The sea grass also helps to keep the water clean, and make good
breeding grounds for the inhabitants of the bay.
Jervis Bay is a nice place for me to live because the waters are
warm and there is plenty of food to eat.
Dolphins are mammals and come in different colours just like you.
Some of us are grey , pink, white or maybe black.
My cousin the pink dolphin is endangered so we are trying to be
very careful.
People think that sharks are our biggest danger but unfortunately
it is humans that are our worst enemy.
We can get caught in fishermans nets , eat rubbish that is thrown
into the sea like plastic bags and bottles, some spear fisherman chase
us and you pollute our water.
We know you don't mean to do some of these things and are happy
the children of today are teaching their parents about the environment
Question ? How
can we help Dangles and his friends ?
When my mum has a Baby we are called calves
she looks after us until we are old enough to look after our selves just
like your mum does . If there is some danger around mum will protect us.
We love to play jumping out of the water ,
chasing and splashing.
When the Baywatch boat comes out on the bay
we all chase it and have races with them.
I am the dolphin that always jumps out of
the water. I can jump very high and swim very fast
Question
? What
games do dolphins like to play ?
This is My friend Winifred the Whale , she is a humpback whale and
she visits me in Jervis Bay between June and November each
year . We have a great time playing while she is here. She doesnt stay
long as her family mirgrate north for the winter and she comes back in
September to show us her new calf.
Question ? Why
do Whales migrate and were do they go?
Some more freinds of ours are Franchesca & Dingles who traveled
all the way from England to visit my friends and me in Jervis Bay.
Franchesca & Dingles have travelled the world with some teachers
from England making sure they behave.
They were really surprised when I splashed them.
We all had a good laugh and sang a song.
"Dingles, Dangles & Franchesca all went to Dolphin Explorer Cruises
just to see dangles home below the sea."
We hope they come to vist again soon.
I had better go now I hear mum calling me.
